How To Grow Life Beautiful

Verse of the day: 2 Peter 3:18

I always have thoughts running through my head. Something that is close to my heart is growing in life. Do you ever sit around and think about what you want out of life? I think I can safely say most of us do. Our time on earth is limited until God calls us up. What matters most is what do we do with our life.

As a Christian myself, we are called to do things differently. Bring our wants and worries to God, pray, fast, etc. None of us are perfect. I definitely struggle with that at times. I also find it challenging to trust God’s timing when times are tough. Trusting that things will come to pass can be a frustrating process sometimes. None of us like to wait. If that dream or want doesn’t happen when we think it should, we sometimes give up on it completely. Psalm 37:4 reminds us that we must seek God first. After that, He will give us the desires of our hearts. Everything in life is in God’s timing and His plan for us. I bring my faith into the conversation because God has gotten me places only He could do.

Life is truly what you make of it. You have two options in life: work through it or give up and accomplish nothing. Life isn’t going to be easy and that is a very important thing to remember. If you sit around and complain about your problems, you can’t blame anyone but yourself. Learn to work through it. Health issues, money, living arrangements, etc. It’s all an excuse.

Money is an issue for most of us either in the past or currently. To fix any money issues, first you must know your finances completely. Know where to cut out excess spending. If it is just a want and not an absolute need, cut it out and start to save money. Anyone can save money; you just have to understand your money and have a better relationship with it. Do what you can with what you have to work with. Cut out all unnecessary spending. If you need a better job, consider looking at job opportunities to move up. You could ask for a raise. If possible, go back to school or take a few classes to get a certification.

Health issues I can certainly speak on for starters. I walk with a cane. Occasionally, I still need a wheelchair due to balance issues. A neurological issue, which still isn’t sorted out yet, causes these balance problems. I’ve been working through these issues for a little over 3 years now. I don’t let it stop me. I listen to my body! When I need to rest, I do, and then I do what I can. If I would’ve given up, what would I have accomplished aside from being upset and feeling sorry for myself. Nothing. Health issues force you to pivot, not to give up on everything. I am in my late 20’s, and I never expected this to happen so early in life. However, it is what it is. We pivot and keep moving forward.

I’ve always had a dream of owning a farm. Granted I put that dream almost entirely out of existence until COVID happened. COVID reignited the flame for that. As many know, buying land is very costly. Getting a farm up and running can also be expensive, especially with the price of land today. So instead of buying land I’m choosing to learn while I wait for that dream to be possible.

If you have a big dream of owning a farm and/or land, start learning now. Start a small garden where you are. It could be a very small potted patio/balcony garden. Alternatively, plant a small in-ground garden if you’re allowed to where you live. Learn how to preserve food with what you are able to grow now. Also, learn to preserve the food you already buy at the grocery store. Learning is the biggest key here. Without knowledge, how will you even know where to start? How will you build a wonderful plan when you get that land and do something beautiful?

Another great example is I always wanted to own my own hair salon. I did, and it was open for almost 3 years before I was forced to close it. Yes, I was forced to close; however, I learned a lot on that little journey. I cried when I was forced to close for many reasons. I wanted it. I prayed on it. I went after it.

If you want to build a business, go for it! Having a business is not an easy thing to do. I won’t sit here and tell you it’s an easy thing to manage. Having a business with employees or just you is a big job. While you wait for that dream to come alive, learn about business taxes. Figure out the costs of the product you want to sell. Search for suppliers for the items/ingredients you need. Most importantly, learn about the industry you will be in and how your business will be different compared to others. Get a game plan going!

The biggest thing to growing a beautiful life is the learn from your mistakes. Not enough people do that. God will allow the same things keep happening until you learn from it. I see too many people who never learn. They allow their life to become unraveled. At times, they start blaming everything except their own actions that landed them where they are. Mistakes are there to guide us and force us to pivot. Sometimes we need to pivot a little or a lot depending on the mistake. Sometimes we just need to start over completely and that’s okay too!

We get so many chances in life while we are here on this Earth. Don’t let it slip away. Playing the victim isn’t healthy, and it won’t get you anywhere. We ALL have issues in life, so the big question is what are you going to do about it? Don’t give up on your dreams! God will lead you where he wants you if you let Him. My advice, tell God what you want. No dream is ever too big!! Dream big and go after it. Build the life you want and don’t stop trying. Be proactive and keep pushing forward. If you fail, get up, figure out what went wrong, and try again. Life is a beautiful thing and a gift from God that we are all here. Make the most of it. Don’t look bad on life with the shoulda, coulda, woulda mindset.

God Bless!
